Your break even point is:
What is the break-even point?
The break-even point is the number of units needed for sales revenue to cover fixed costs and variable production costs.
How to use this tool
Break-even units = fixed costs ÷ (sales price per unit − variable cost per unit). Enter fixed costs for the period you are planning and consistent per-unit costs. Whole-unit sales are rounded up.
Example
With $5,000 in fixed costs, a $50 selling price, and $30 variable cost per unit, you must sell 250 units to break even.
Understanding your result
The selling price must exceed variable cost for additional sales to contribute toward fixed costs. The model assumes constant prices and costs; discounts, capacity limits, and multiple products can change the result.
