What is product stickiness?
This calculator expresses daily active users as a percentage of monthly active users, often called the DAU/MAU ratio.
How to use this tool
Stickiness = DAU ÷ MAU × 100. Apply the same definition of active to both inputs. For a representative month, use average daily active users and that month’s unique active users.
Example
2,000 daily active users and 10,000 monthly active users gives a DAU/MAU ratio of 20%.
Understanding your result
The ratio does not prove that each user returns on 20% of days. Expected usage frequency differs by product, and a single unusually busy day can inflate the result. MAU must be positive.
