What is revenue churn?
Revenue churn measures recurring revenue lost relative to the starting revenue base over a reporting period.
How to use this tool
Revenue churn = net revenue lost ÷ starting revenue × 100. Keep the same starting customer cohort and time period in both inputs.
Example
A $500 net revenue loss from a $10,000 starting base gives 5% revenue churn.
Understanding your result
For gross churn, enter cancellation and downgrade losses before expansion. For net churn, subtract expansion from those losses; this can make churn negative. Label your definition when sharing the result, and use positive starting revenue.
