How is meeting cost estimated?
The meeting cost calculator estimates participants’ salary cost for one meeting and for a recurring meeting schedule.
How to use this tool
Hourly salary = average annual salary ÷ 52 ÷ 40. Cost per meeting = hourly salary × participants × duration in hours. Annual cost multiplies this by meetings per week and 52 weeks.
Example
Four participants earning an average of $104,000 annually in a one-hour meeting cost $200 per meeting. One such meeting each week totals $10,400 per year.
Understanding your result
This assumes 40-hour weeks and 52 meeting weeks. It excludes benefits, preparation, follow-up, and opportunity cost. A high cost alone does not establish that a meeting is unproductive.
