What is a webhook?
A webhook is a method of communication between two applications, where one application sends
data to another in real-time as events occur. It works on a simple principle: when a
specific event happens in the source application, it triggers an HTTP POST request
containing relevant information to a predefined URL endpoint in the receiving application.
The receiving application then processes this data and can take appropriate actions based on
the information received.
Webhooks are commonly used in various scenarios such as
triggering notifications, updating data, or integrating different services without the need
for constant polling. They provide a more efficient and immediate way for applications to
communicate and synchronize data in real-time.
